Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 1997 Djurgårdens IF season, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Johan Andersson, Markus Karlsson and Bo Andersson. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

- Thanks for your e-mail. I think it is a good idea to discuss such things in the future, why not at the WikiOlympicsProject for example. For 1976: Kingston Canada: first thing, putting flags in the host city column is purely decorative, and flags should be avoided when they are only decorative, per WP:MOSFLAG. There are already flags for the athletes themselves that are more important for the understanding of the table. Secondly, I believe it might be hard for people that are not that involved into sailing or Olympics to understand what 1976 Kingston is. 1976 Montreal is clearer in that view, especially if its consistent among all Olympics articles. What do you think makes the most sense for people: 2014 Rosa Khutor or 2014 Sochi (alpine skiing)? I believe some consistency within the Olympics-related articles are good and please have a look at List of Olympic medalists for how other sports (football, alpine skiing) are dealing with the host city when the venues are outside the geographical host city. Unnecessary moves
Why have you moved some Bandy World Championship articles from one name to another almost just like it? Snowsuit Wearer (talk|contribs) 19:27, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, I did. It looks like Bandy World Championship doesn't have an official English name so I've moved the articles to names that were more consistent with other world championships on Wikipedia, names still being used in English-language sources. Smartskaft (talk) 19:52, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
- I hope yoy will edit all the links accordingly too. Snowsuit Wearer (talk|contribs) 16:07, 7 April 2015 (UTC)

Yacht Club icon
Hi! I read your suggestion of how to include a https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_yacht_clubs yacht club icon on this page and still can't figure out how to get our icon listed for the Barrachois Harbour Yacht Club. If you could give an old guy with sometimer's syndrome a point in the general direction, I'd appreciate it. Thank you. Aloha27 talk 11:53, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
- So i added a line to Template:Yachtclub and now you can just put
{{yachtclub|Barrachois Harbour Yacht Club}}
and you get Barrachois Harbour Yacht Club. Smartskaft (talk) 19:11, 5 May 2015 (UTC)- Thanks for doing that. I'm sure I couldn't have figured it out on my best day and this sure isn't it. Thanks again! Aloha27 talk 12:02, 6 May 2015 (UTC)
Template:Result
Hi,
As far As I can remember the discussion regarding the Medal discussion was about that the template Medal should not allow other results than medals. I can understand that. The template result gives the possibility to add other results than medal places. Non medal places are sometimes more "worth" than medals. Besides that the medal template allows discualifications. A 10th place at the Olympics is a much better result than a disqualification. and therefor more notable. I will revert your change. Regards._/)_/)_/) ˷˷˷˷˷˷˷˷ _/) NED33talk 08:35, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- @NED33: No, it is not. If that would have been the case, the template would have been moved Template:Result simply. As Dirtlawyer1 put it: "no, we should not include results beyond the first three in the infobox "medals table"; the medals table was never intended to list every result, only the highlights and top finishes of an athlete's elite career". Inboxes' purpose are to provide a brief description of the subject with major honours included, which mainly are Olympics, World Championships and continental championships. All results by an single athlete shouldn't be in the inbox, there are other way to present them further down in the article. "Disqualifed" signs are for cases when a participant gets a medal and later gets stripped off because of reasons such as doping, non-amateurism or other. Simply, more notewhorthy than a regular tenth place. Smartskaft (talk) 21:38, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
m2 categories
Hi, I processed your nominations as listed here, without adding hyphens as the others in Category:Yacht racers by class are not hyphenated. Please would you follow up by nominating the lowest-level categories by Olympic year?
Also, I just noticed that although the sub-cats of Category:Yacht racers by class for the "Metre" classes use capital M, the Olympic subcats in Category:Olympic sailors by class mostly do not, and nor do some of their sub-cats by year. If you would like to tidy those up too, that would be appreciated. – Fayenatic London 18:01, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
@Fayenatic london: Good! For the hyphen question, it looks more natural for me without the hyphen, but I am afraid my judgement is weak since I'm not a native English writer. However, I will process the capital Ms (even though I will get the hyphen remark again). Smartskaft (talk) 21:38, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for listing them at WP:CFDS. Please also tag the category pages with {{cfr-speedy}}. Sorry if this seems bureaucratic, but it's to give reasonable notice to people who may be watching the pages. – Fayenatic London 18:35, 8 May 2015 (UTC)
